Your records are kept confidential and secure, in line with UK data protection law and the BACP and NCPS ethical frameworks.
Questions
It's a plan for what happens to your clients and records if you die or suddenly can't practise. It names a trustee, a qualified colleague who will contact your clients with care, close or pause your practice and look after confidential records. It isn't the same as your personal will.
When your emergency contact or executor gets in touch with me, I will confirm the situation, then contact your clients, parents or guardians and supervisees using the emails you've chosen. I offer them onward support, pause or close your systems, and deal with your records as your clinical will sets out. If it isn't yet clear whether you'll return, I treat it as a temporary pause.
No. All the client and supervisee work, and any out-of-pocket costs, are included in your monthly subscription. There is nothing further for you or your family to pay once the will has been activated.
Your spreadsheet is shared only between you and me, in a secure Google Workspace account with two-step verification. I only open it to help you keep it up to date or if your clinical will is activated. You remain the data controller, and our data processing agreement sets out exactly how I handle the information.
Yes. Your client contract and privacy notice should explain that a clinical will trustee may contact them if you're unable to. I'll give you suggested wording when you subscribe.
Yes, at any time, through the link in every reminder email. Your cover continues to the end of the month you paid for, and I remove my access to your spreadsheet within 14 days after that.
